My Dear Friends:
I am sure you are all well aware of the devastation caused by the recent flooding
in Pakistan. You are hoping and praying that your families back home are
spared from this terrible tragedy. Unfortunately some of the people have
not been so lucky. There are over 20 million people affected so far and
over 1600 have died. This situation unfortunately is going to get worse,
before it gets better.
People are desperate for our help. What is badly, and urgently needed for the victims, is a supply of food, medicines, and shelter for their survival. To assist with this terrible tragedy, your Pakistani American Association of Connecticut (PAACT), has opened an account to facilitate your contributions for the relief efforts. I know our community has always made us proud, and risen to challenges like this in the past. Your support for the earthquake efforts in Pakistan and very recently in Haiti. This tragedy could not have happened at a worse time.
On behalf of PAACT, I appeal to all those who can make a difference in this
difficult situation to send their contributions to the address indicated:
Pakistani American Association of CT
PO Box 769
South Windsor, CT 06074
Or you can directly deposit to:
Pakistan Flood Relief Fund
Webster Bank
Routing no: 211170101 Account no. 0010657647
I know we don't have control over nature, but it is in our power to make a small difference in the lives of the people. Please donate generously and note that our organization is 501C (tax exempt).
For any questions,
you may reach me, or any of my PAACT Executive Committee Members.
Thanks,
Zaheer Sharaf
PAACT President
